Prabhas Raju Uppalapati (born 23 October 1979), known mononymously as Prabhas, is an Indian actor who works primarily in Telugu cinema. He is one of the highest-paid actors in Indian cinema and achieved international fame through the "Baahubali" franchise (2015, 2017), which became one of the highest-grossing Indian film series of all time. Born in Chennai and raised inHyderabad, Prabhas is the nephew of Telugu actor Krishnam Raju. He made his debut with "Eeswar" (2002) and went on to star in several Telugu hits including "Varsham" (2004), "Chatrapathi" (2005), "Bujjigadu" (2008), "Darling" (2010), and "Mirchi" (2013). His career-defining role came with "Baahubali: The Beginning" (2015) and "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" (2017), directed by S.S. Rajamouli. The franchise's epic storytelling, groundbreaking visual effects, and Prabhas's iconic portrayal of Baahubali/Amarendra Baahubali made it a cultural phenomenon not just in India but across Asia and globally. "Baahubali 2" grossed over ₹1,800 crore worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film at the time. Post-Baahubali, Prabhas starred in "Saaho" (2019), "Radhe Shyam" (2022), "Adipurush" (2023), and "Salaar" (2023). He is currently one of the most anticipated actors in Indian cinema, with multiple big-budget projects in the pipeline.
