Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Raj Kapoor (born 28 September 1982) is an Indian actor who works in Hindi cinema. He is a member of the legendary Kapoor family, which has been one of the most prominent families in Indian cinema for over four generations. His grandfather Raj Kapoor was one of the greatest actors and filmmakers in Hindi cinema history, and his father Rishi Kapoor was also a celebrated actor. Born in Mumbai, Ranbir studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York before returning to India to pursue acting. He made his debut with "Saawariya" (2007), which was critically acclaimed despite moderate box office success. He quickly established himself as one of the most versatile actors of his generation with performances in "Wake Up Sid" (2009), "Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani" (2009), "Raajneeti" (2010), and "Rockstar" (2011). Kapoor's most notable performances include "Barfi!" (2012, India's official entry to the Oscars), "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" (2013), "Tamasha" (2015), "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" (2016), "Sanju" (2018, for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Sanjay Dutt), and "Brahmastra" (2022). He also co-produced the critically acclaimed "Bombay Velvet" (2015) and "Jagga Jasoos" (2017). Kapoor married actress Alia Bhatt in April 2022, and they have a daughter named Raha. His film "Animal" (2023) was a massive commercial success despite mixed reviews, grossing over ₹900 crore worldwide.
