Biography
Rashid Khan Arman (born 20 September 1998) is an Afghan cricketer who is widely regarded as the best T20I spinner in the world. Known for his lethal googly, incredible accuracy, and ability to take wickets in any conditions, he has been the driving force behind Afghanistan's rise in international cricket.
Born in Nangarhar province, Afghanistan, Rashid grew up in a refugee camp in Pakistan before returning to Afghanistan. He made his international debut in 2015 at age 16 and quickly became a global sensation. At 20, he became the youngest T20I captain in history.
Rashid has taken over 150 T20I wickets at an average under 15, making him one of the most economical and successful spinners in the format's history. He has been a regular in the IPL (playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans), the Big Bash League, and various other T20 leagues worldwide.
His match-winning performances include 7-18 against Ireland (the best T20I bowling figures by an Afghan), and his match-winning spells in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Beyond cricket, Rashid has been a symbol of Afghan resilience and hope.
