Sahir Ali Bagga

Sahir Ali Bagga is a Pakistani singer, composer and music producer known for his distinctive voice and his many chart-topping film and television soundtracks. Born on 27 September 1976 in Lahore, he grew up in a musical environment and trained in classical music before entering the industry as a composer for television dramas.

Career

Sahir gained fame with the romantic single Aitraz (2015) with Zara Madani, followed by Lambi Judai (2016). His Coke Studio performance of Wohi Khuda Hai (2019) alongside Aima Baig became a massive hit and is regarded as one of the best qawwali-infused performances on the show. As a composer, he has scored soundtracks for many of Pakistan's biggest films, including Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, Parwaaz Hai Junoon and Load Wedding, and has composed title tracks for dozens of hit dramas.

Legacy

Sahir comes from the family of the legendary qawwal Fateh Ali Khan, and he has spoken about preserving the tradition of qawwali in modern music. He continues to compose, produce and perform, and is considered one of the most reliable hitmakers in the Pakistani music industry.
