Salman Khan

Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan (born 27 December 1965) is an Indian actor who works in Hindi cinema. Known for his charismatic screen presence and action roles, Khan is one of the biggest superstars in Bollywood. His annual show "Bigg Boss" (the Indian version of Big Brother) and his Being Human foundation have made him a household name across India. Born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Khan comes from a prominent film family — his father Salim Khan is a legendary screenwriter, and his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail are also actors and producers. He made his debut with "Biwi Ho To Aisi" (1988) and rose to fame with "Maine Pyar Kiya" (1989), a romantic blockbuster. Khan's most successful films include "Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!" (1994), "Dabangg" (2010), "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (2015, for which he won the National Film Award), "Sultan" (2016), and "Tiger" series. "Bajrangi Bhaijaan," about a man who helps a mute Pakistani girl reunite with her family, became one of the highest-grossing Indian films and highlighted India-Pakistan relations. Khan has also been a judge on the reality TV show "Bigg Boss" for multiple seasons and hosts "Being Saluman" — a show where he fulfills fans' wishes. His Being Human Foundation works on education and healthcare for the underprivileged. Despite legal controversies, Khan remains one of the most beloved and commercially successful actors in Indian cinema.
