Shakib Al Hasan

Shakib Al Hasan (born 24 March 1987) is a Bangladeshi cricketer and the most successful player in the history of Bangladeshi cricket. He is a left-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler who has been the cornerstone of Bangladesh cricket for over a decade. He has scored over 7,000 Test runs and taken over 400 Test wickets, making him one of the few all-rounders in history to achieve the double of 5,000 runs and 200 wickets in Tests. Born in Magura district, Shakib made his international debut in 2006 at age 18. He quickly established himself as Bangladesh's best player and has been the team's leading performer in virtually every series. He became the world's number one ranked all-rounder in ICC rankings and held the position for extended periods. Shakib's most memorable performances include his 6-56 against India in the 2019 World Cup, his match-winning 124 against England in the 2015 World Cup, and his consistent performances in the IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He was the highest-priced Bangladeshi player in IPL history. Beyond cricket, Shakib has been a brand ambassador for numerous companies and is one of the most recognizable sports personalities in Bangladesh. He has also been involved in controversies, including a ban for failing to report corrupt approaches, but has always bounced back.
