Sohrab Moradi

Sohrab Moradi, born on September 10, 1988, in Khorramabad, Iran, is an Iranian weightlifter who became an Olympic champion and world record holder. Moradi won the gold medal in the 94kg category at the 2016 Rio Olympics, setting Olympic records in both the snatch and clean & jerk. He also won the World Championship gold medal in 2017 and 2018, establishing himself as the dominant force in his weight class. Moradi's incredible strength and technique made him one of the most celebrated athletes in Iranian history. His journey from a small city in western Iran to the pinnacle of world weightlifting inspired millions. Despite challenges including injuries and the pressures of international competition, Moradi consistently performed at the highest level.
