Taskin Ahmed

Taskin Ahmed (born 3 February 1995) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who is the country's premier fast bowler. Known for his pace (regularly clocking over 140 km/h), swing, and ability to reverse the ball, he has been Bangladesh's bowling spearhead since his debut in 2014. Born in Dhaka, Taskin was one of the fastest bowlers to emerge from Bangladesh. He made his international debut in 2014 and quickly became the leader of Bangladesh's pace attack. His ability to bowl at high speeds on subcontinental pitches, which typically don't favor fast bowling, has been remarkable. Taskin's most notable performances include his 5-28 against Sri Lanka in 2018, his match-winning spells in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, and his consistent performances in the Big Bash League and other T20 leagues. He was named ICC Player of the Month in 2023. Despite injuries that have interrupted his career, Taskin has remained Bangladesh's most threatening fast bowler and has been crucial to the team's improvement in Test cricket.
